OUTLINE
In 2008, the Honig food factory in the Dutch city of Koog aan de Zaan will see a radical change of use.
The block of former factory buildings will be converted into lofts and office space, while new constructions will be added at the block’s street side.
These new constructions are planned to house starters lofts and more office space. The factory buildings with character boast large open floor spaces and a characteristic construction; a perfect base for self-refurbishing loftsapartments.
The future loft owners are sure to enjoy their stunning view over the river Zaan. The starter lofts in the newly constructed building sections will boast a generous height, and are also self-refurbishing. Spaces for commercial purposes will be accommodated
in the street side construction board. The housing units will be made accessible through several decks and footbridges in the central zone, which connects the existing factory building with the new construction. On top, the block of buildings will be completed by constructing penthouses with ample terraces. A private underground parking space will be made available for every housing unit.
The project will be finalised in late 2012.
